Marriage can be the most intimate, and most satisfying growth-producing relationship of all human relationships. It might, therefore, seems natural and proper to be centered on one’s husband or wife. Nevertheless, experience and observation tell a different story.
With the many troubled marriages we have been involved in working with, a certain trend that comes to bear is strong emotional dependence.
If our sense of emotional worth comes primarily from our marriage (a spouse) and not within ourselves, internally, we become highly dependent upon that relationship and become vulnerable to the moods and feelings, the behavior and treatment of our spouse or to any external event that may impinge on that relationship.
Your happiness and self worth is not from your partner, but within yourself.
We wish you a year full of joy and prosperity. Take care of yourself; body, soul and spirit.
